Mystery Meat

This is in response to 6 hours of trying to get a friend's PC working. And it was a brand-spanking new Dell with all the bells and whistles. By the time he got everything he wanted in it (high-end video card, DVD-burner, video software, maximum memory, video camera and microphone) it cost nearly a $1000 more then an Apple iMac where most of the stuff came already built in. Add that to the fact that he had to install most of it himself...to save money! After only one week of use, it began to develop problems and thats when the phone calls started coming. Dell was no help and of course Microstuff was useless, although they did talk him through reloading Windoze XP. After week two, the computer (can I call it that?) stopped working and he had to reload the system again and in the process lost loads of data....tsk, tsk...no backup! I tired to tell him to get a Mac to which he whined, "But I can't run Office on it!" Duh! So the following is my list.

Things you RARELY (if ever) hear from a Mac user.

1. Be right back, I have to reboot!"
2. I think I might have a virus.
3. Whats a DDL file mean?
4. How do I stop these pop-ups?
5. I think someone hijacked my internet!
6. You mean I have to buy a monitor with this machine? (Apologies to G5 owners)
7. Whats the best program to buy to play and save my music in?
8. Wow! I left my laptop on the table and nobody stole it!
9. What? Another f**king security patch???
10. Where did that file go?
11. Hey, my favorite porno site won't load!
12. Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer are my hero's!
13. But I've only had the computer for a year. Why do I have to buy a new one?
14. I secretly listen to my iPod when no one is looking.
15. So, if I take that job in Windoze IT, I will have lifetime job security?
16. Guess I'll take a long lunch break again, while the IT guys fix my PeeCee.

19. I just installed this new system software 2 minutes ago! How can there be an update already?
20. I have my computer in a closet...its butt ugly!
